We’re not sure if you’ve heard, but we’ve recently moved our offices and my gosh, it’s traumatic. It begins with making that first decision of course, deciding to take the plunge and move somewhere new. And then there’s dealing with real estate agents, explaining to each and everyone what type of property you’re looking for – a unit, a house, a mansion!? And when you finally find that special somewhere, it’s time to start coordinating the move, packing your things, and don’t even get us started on the unpacking.

We’ve compiled some of our handiest tips to help you through this tough time and, you’ve guessed it, it all revolves around rubbish removal. It might seem like the last thing on your mind when you’re planning your move, whether it’s a home, an office, or a room, but being well prepared can help take a load (of rubbish) off your shoulders.

1. Moving on Up – Rubbish removal before the move

Before you organise for the movers and packers to come in and start quoting the cost of your move, make sure you’ve given your home or office a thorough spring clean. Consider everything, such as the items in your wardrobe, the food in the pantry and the amount of linen in the cupboards. Have you ever taken stock of everything you have? I mean, do you really need the 5 pans that are exactly the same size, just at varying points of decay? Or how about the champagne flutes that you still keep, although you no longer have a matching set? And let’s not get started on how long the gravy boat you were given as a wedding gift has been sitting unused!

When the packers come in to quote your move, they will account for everything you have. If you don’t think you’ll need it or, in the case of a downsize, you might not have somewhere to put it, then get rid early on. It only makes life simpler, and three months down the line you’ll probably have forgotten you ever owned it at all. Not only will you make life easier, but you’ll probably save a packet too.

2. Garden Party – strip out the green waste from your back yard

Gardens can often be forgotten about in the build up to a move, and then seem to creep up on you (literally) on the big day. Suddenly you have broken bikes, flower pots, and a pile of green waste to get rid in the two hours before the new owners arrive. Often your removal men won’t take it with them in their vans as it can void your insurance, so don’t forget to think about this area early on in the moving process.

At 1300Rubbish we help our customers remove green waste on a regular basis, so we’re completely at ease with gardens. Give us a call a few weeks before your move and we can come and help take a load off your mind. You could even arrange for us to turn up on the big day, to take away the remaining pieces of junk that have crept up on you during the move. It always seems like the more you clear things out, the more rubbish appears, and we completely understand how that feels.

3. Un – Boxing Day – the post move household rubbish collection

Even if you think you’ve been thorough in your rubbish removal before the move, sometimes it’s the reality of unpacking that really stresses how much junk you own. Believe me, I’ve been there. Unwrapping 10 layers of paper to uncover yet another espresso cup that I’ve never used because, in reality, I only drink flat whites. Sound familiar? Take the opportunity and strength that only comes fatigue and boredom, to really get ruthless with your junk. If you haven’t used it for years, then will you really miss it? Maybe it’s that lone earring that you’ve kept, hoping you’ll find its pair, or it could be the bike you’ve been meaning to fix for the last 5 years. If it’s broken, chuck it. You won’t miss it.

You may have noticed a theme to our helpful hints, and you’d be right. Carefully coordinating your rubbish removal is the key to a successful move (after finding the perfect house of course), and with 1300Rubbish it couldn’t be easier. We can normally organise a rubbish collection with you within 24 hours of your first call and are completely up front about our costs; our aim is to make your life easier with our hands on rubbish removal service.

All you need to do is give us a call on 1300 78 22 47 (freetoll) and one of our professionally trained customer service team can guide you through the process. We’re a small team, so you won’t be passed around a massive call centre, you can ask for us by name and we’ll be there to help. It’s this dedication to customer satisfaction and happiness that makes us one of Australia’s leading rubbish removal companies. Call us today and help us help you through this stressful time.

Take an eco-friendly approach to green waste disposal

We all know that our planet is choking on its own toxic emissions, so it’s up to each of us to take a proactive approach to recycling rubbish appropriately.
All local and shire Councils in Australia have independent policies regarding recycling within their district and various measures in place to police their policies, so it still remains up to each individual to adhere to the council guidelines.

According to recent data from the Green Australia Project, we need to give ourselves a collective pat on the back for our recycling and waste disposal efforts when it comes to bottles, plastics and glass, but we seem to be lagging the rest of the field with green waste.

While many Councils make green waste bins available, they come at an additional cost to the consumer. In addition, many council tips have a green waste disposal section but it also costs extra, so it’s hardly surprising that people are loathe to dispose of their property maintenance rubbish in the properly allocated locations.

So, what’s the answer for green waste?

Professional Green Waste pick up and Disposal

Sure, DIY green waste disposal methods are great for keen gardeners who have the time, money and energy to haul truck loads of lawn clippings, foliage and excess growth to the dump themselves. Or worse, painstakingly pump it through a DIY mulcher.

Isn’t it enough that you spent all that time mowing the grass, trimming the trees and cutting down the excess foliage? Don’t you deserve a break?

We think you do! At 1300RUBBISH our trucks will call around at a time that suits you and get rid of as much green waste as you can manage to give us, without you having to lift a finger.

Get rid of Green Waste by recycling

What’s more, you can sit back and watch our team of professional waste disposal experts with a clean, green conscience knowing that your green waste will be recycled properly to enrich our water-starved environment, creating sustainability. Now, doesn’t that make you feel good?

The friendly customer service team at 1300Rubbish (1300 78 22 47) will provide you with an obligation free quote which includes all extras, like tip fees, so you don’t get any surprises when we arrive on your doorstep.

And our green waste pick up drivers will call you 20 to 30 minutes before we arrive so you can clip any last minute branches or trim that one last tree before we get there.

So give 1300Rubbish a call today on 1300 78 22 47 and then sit back and think about how you could spend all that free time you’ve just saved yourself more productively. Planting a few more trees maybe?

At 1300Rubbish, recycling and disposing of our waste in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner is our main priority – as well as making your life easier of course. So, with Keep Australia Beautiful week in mind, here are our top tips for keeping YOUR Australia Beautiful.

Responsible household rubbish recycling with Australia’s finest waste removal company.

Giving your home a good old clear out can be time consuming and exhausting, especially when you’re aiming to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Our houses can be home to many varieties of junk and clutter, and recycling the various types of waste is often not on ones list of priorities.

So whether you’ve cleared out clothes, furniture, garden waste, scrap metal, building materials, plastics or a combination of the above, you need a company that will recycle as much, if not all of your rubbish for you.

1300Rubbish – local rubbish recycling to help keep your Australia beautiful.

At 1300Rubbish we offer a complete rubbish removal service and aim to recycle as much of the junk we collect as possible. Not only that, but we will come and collect your waste, load it up into our trucks and take it away with us there and then. There’s no need to you to even lift a finger (unless it’s to point at the rubbish you need taken) and they’ll even sweep up afterwards. So not only do you get to rest assured that you’re doing your bit for the environment, but you’re also getting all the hard, rubbish removal work done for you!

Recycle your rubbish today and sleep soundly tomorrow.

So in honour of Keep Australia Beautiful, take some time to think about what happens to our beautiful country every time a piece of junk is taken to the tip or litter is dropped on our streets. And next time you decide to strip out the junk from your come, dispose of your rubbish responsibly, and call us on 1300 78 22 47 and have your rubbish removed AND recycled. One of our expert sales team are on hand to answer your calls today. We look forward to hearing from you.

Whether you’re emptying your house before a move, or cleaning out a house after bereavement in your family, whether it’s because you’re moving on and out, or because of damage, you’ll find that you need to organise something, such as a skip, or a rubbish removal team for waste removal.

Waste disposal

There are various types of waste removal and waste disposal rules that you need to pay attention to. One of them is that certain types of waste need to be disposed of in certain ways. It’s critical to understand that you’re the one that’s in control of this, and you do have to tell the group you’re hiring to remove your waste. They’ll need to know so that they can dispose of your waste properly. General house waste, such as paper and other products can be disposed in a general way – rubble and other products need to be disposed of in different ways. It’s important to ensure that you’re working with the best of disposal for the kind of waste you are disposing of.

A few tips to bear in mind while working with waste disposal:

1.	Consider wrapping up your waste
– either in black bags or other suitable wrappings. It’s of vital importance to do this because it will stop your waste from being blown away, but it also makes it easier to clean up and discourages vermin.

2.	Remember contact your removal team in plenty of time – You may want to arrange waste removal before you start piling everything up – that way, you can be sure it’s not going to be stuck in your drive for any period of time more than you wanted. Different areas may have different rules for waste disposal – 1300rubbish can advise on the rules in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and on the Gold Coast.

Waste collection

Waste removal and waste collection works well when planned entirely. This waste disposal is part of the services many companies offer, but you need to ensure that you’ve not working with less than optimal amounts, or they may need to return. Waste removal also works best when you’ve planned entirely, so remember to ensure that you’ve got the time to do all of the removal by having less than you predicted when planning your waste removal. If you can, consider using your garage and ensuring that you’re making the most of everything that you’ve booked and arranged, by ensuring that you’re putting out everything from your garage or other areas out for removal too. Waste removal works best when you know what you’re doing and working with a team that can meet your needs. And as you’re not hiring a skip, you may find that direct removal is not only cheaper, but causes you less problems overall and can be arranged far easier and without paperwork.

Commercial Waste Disposal

1300rubbish are the residential and commercial Waste removal experts – so give them a call and discuss your requirements, for work or for home – they do it all.

Waste removal Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast

1300rubbish has you covered for waste removal across Australia. Waste removal can be easy – consider how much rubbish you’re getting rid of, and look at what you’re going to do, then call 1300rubbish.

With a New Year should come a new you, and there’s no better way to get started than to give your home a thoroughly good seeing to. Whilst the gym can take care of your body, we can take care of your home.

Midsummer Clear Out – Skip the fuss and chuck that junk…

Many hopefulls start the New Year with resolutions and good intentions for the year to come, but at 1300Rubbish we believe that to clear your mind, you’ll have to clear your living space too. After all, a tidy home means a tidy mind. Follow our useful tips to successfully clearing out your home this January…

1. Start with the wardrobe- use the four season rule

If your wardrobe is starting to resemble a junk shop during sale season, then it’s time to do something about it. A good rule of thumb is to consider whether you’ve worn something at any point in the last year… if you haven’t worn it through all four seasons, then there’s a good chance you’re not going to wear it at all. If a lot of your unwanted clothing is good enough to be worn again, make sure to take it down to your local charity shop – you’ll be doing your bit for a good cause too. However, not all of our old clothes will be suitable for the charity bins – underwear for example, and any clothes that are falling apart, should probably be thrown in your own household rubbish bin.

At 1300Rubbish, we collect rubbish of all shapes and sizes so, even if you only have a few old bags of clothing to be collected, we’ll be there to help.

2. ‘No matter where I serve my guests, it seems they like my kitchen best’

It’s true; the kitchen is often the hub of any home. It’s where the kids leave their bags after a hard day at school; it’s where hubbie heads for a cold beer after work, and where we can often find people at parties. So, if the kitchen is the centre point for your home, surely it’s important to make sure that it’s always looking its best.

Unfortunately, the kitchen also becomes a dumping ground for the whole family’s junk. It can often be full of washing, handbags and paperwork. The cupboards are a whole different matter, the back of the cupboards might have tins from before your children were born, the freezer might be looking more like one solid block of ice and your pots and pans have definitely seen better days. Now is the time to strip out anything in your kitchen that doesn’t need to be there – de clutter, de frost and de mould everything you can get your hands on. A happy kitchen, is a happy home.

At 1300Rubbish we remove all types of rubbish, including food waste, so if your kitchen cupboards are looking a little past their sell by date, make sure you give us a call.

3. Remove the waste from your garden, and add an extra room onto your home.

In Australia, we are blessed with some of the best weather in the world, so it’s only natural that we all love spending so much time outdoors. Whether it’s a balcony, a few acres of land, or a small back yard, your outdoor space can be invaluable in the summer months. But if your garden is starting to look more like a forest than a relaxing haven, then it’s time to show off your green fingers and get stuck in.

At 1300Rubbish we’re happy to remove all sorts of garden waste, including bricks, soil and cuttings. What’s more, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty so, if you’ve exhausted yourself with all of this clearing out lark, then we’re there to pick up the pieces – literally. Our drivers will load the trucks themselves, without you having to lift a finger. They’ll even sweep up afterwards.

1300Rubbish – Your household strip out and rubbish removal specialists.

Our dedicated team across Australia are proud to be rubbish men, and take their work and customer satisfaction very seriously. Here’s what a typical day in the life of a rubbish removal expert involves….

First Stop – Early morning rubbish collections.

Our drivers start the day with their early morning rubbish slots. We understand that your time is valuable, and that you have far more important things to be getting on with than hanging around waiting for someone to come and collect your junk. Work commitments, as well as lifestyles, can often mean that you’re not around during standard working hours, which is why we have our 7am rubbish collection slot.

Whilst we endeavour to book all jobs within a two hour time frame, our 7am slot is guaranteed. So, if you need your rubbish collected before you leave the house in the morning, our early morning rubbish removal is the option for you.

Office Furniture Removal…and a helping hand!

At 1300Rubbish, we work with some of Australia’s largest companies (as well as many of our small businesses), so we’re tried and tested when it comes to office furniture removals. You just have to check out our testimonials to see how well we can do. It’s normally at this point of the day where two of our drivers might meet up to give each other a hand. Often with large furniture and in locations where there might be slightly tricky access, several flights of stairs or lots of tight corners for example, customers can request a second, third or fourth rubbish removal expert to pitch in. You just let us know if you think the job might require more than one person, and we’ll organise the rest.

This doesn’t just apply to offices either; if you think your home rubbish removal might be slightly tricky, don’t worry about letting us know. This way we make sure we can do all the hard work, so you don’t have to lift a finger.

Kerbside Rubbish Collection

In the interest of being the most flexible and customer friendly rubbish removal team in the business, we go out of our way to make sure we can collect your rubbish in the most hassle free way possible. So, if you start work before 7am or if one of our early morning slots are busy then, as long as we can get access to your rubbish, we’ll still remove it – regardless of whether you’re around or not!

Just let us know where your rubbish is located when you book your job in with us, and we’ll handle the rest. All our sales team require is you credit card details on booking, and our drivers will call to confirm the final cost before they begin any work – saving you the bother of having to wait around or rearranging your plans.

Book you rubbish collection with us today!

A rubbish removal expert leads a physically exhausting day, and works from 7am right through to 5pm with the aim of making your life as junk free as possible. So call one of our dedicated sales team today on 1300 78 22 46 (toll free) for an obligation free quote. We aim to offer you the highest level of customer satisfaction, and look forward to hearing from you TODAY. We have plenty more tricks up our sleve too, so watch this space….

Get rid of the junk without the hassles

It’s that time of year again when you’ve decided to give your home a thorough workover, get rid of the accumulated junk and leave your home looking fresh and new.

We all know that good property maintenance ensures that your home retains its value in a fluctuating property market and besides, doesn’t it feel darn good to get rid of such a load of rubbish?

But what to do with that huge pile of stuff that’s accumulated from your rubbish clearance? A rusty old garden setting, the kid’s play gym circa 1986, that old dresser that’s seen it’s finest days plus stacks of green waste from the pruning you finally got around to doing.

What are the Options for Rubbish Collection?

One way or another you have to get the junk to the tip, so what are your options?

You may be lucky enough to own a trailer, but how many trips is it going to take and how much is it going to cost in fuel and tip fees? Same goes for a Ute or any other vehicle you may own that is equipped to carry loads because you certainly wouldn’t want to use the family sedan, would you?

Another alternative is to hire a skip bin, but how big do you need it to be and how long is it going to be parked on your front lawn before you get around to the arduous task of hoisting all the garbage into it? Don’t forget: you pay for the skip regardless of how full you can make it plus the fees are generally calculated on a daily basis.

Call in the Professional Junk Haulers

Let’s face it: you’ve spent countless hours to get rid of all the junk in the first place, so why waste any more of your valuable leisure time making innumerable trips to the dump?
You’ve done the hard yakka so make it easy on yourself and call in the professional waste disposal team at 1300Rubbish on 1300 78 22 47.

We will assess the size of your load, supply the appropriate sized dumpster and do your rubbish clearance at a time that best suits you.

How to contact the rubbish removers

When you telephone one of our friendly customer service people at 1300Rubbish, they will explain the fee structure and give you an obligation free quote which includes all additional fees like tip costs or green waste disposal.

All you need to do is confirm and arrange a time. How much easier can it get? The team at 1300Rubbish will even do a thorough sweep up afterwards so your property looks as good as it gets. And they recycle as much of your rubbish as possible, so you can relax with a clean, green conscience.

So save yourself the hassle of trying to get rid of the junk yourself. Leave it to the experts at 1300Rubbish to do the job for you. Call us now on 1300 78 22 47. You’ll be glad you did.

Owing to the growing environmental consciousness, rubbish removal has become a necessity.

For this reason, numerous garbage removal companies have sprung up that have the capability to handle your trash efficiently and proficiently. For your convenience, we have tried to summarize the ABC’s of rubbish removal.

Let’s take a look at it.

Collection Process

This is the first stage of rubbish removal. The entire solid waste is collected in trash cans or dumpsters and transported to the rubbish processing plant via lorries or haulers. Depending upon the kind and quantity, the garbage is either collected manually or with the help of cranes.

Sorting Out Procedure

Urban solid wastes can be broadly divided into 5 categories viz.

Recyclable wastes like paper, glass, plastic, metal cans, and so on
Biodegradable wastes as garden waste and kitchen refuse
Inert waste that primarily consists of construction debris
Assorted wastes like clothing, stuffed toys, and so forth
Hazardous wastes like paints, motor oils, batteries, pesticides, etc.
All these types of refuse have to be treated differently. Therefore, sorting out procedure is very important.

A bit of sorting out is done at the source itself, when different kinds of wastes are collected in different containers like kitchen wastes in a separate trash bin, papers and scraps in another bin, and bottles and can in yet another dumpster. The rest of the rubbish is sorted at the processing plant.

Treatment

Our commentary on the ABC’s of rubbish removal would be incomplete without describing the treatment process.

These days, almost all urban solid wastes are treated by landfilling or land-spreading process. The modern day landfill is an explicitly engineered facility that disposes off all the solid wastes in an environmental-friendly manner.

Sometimes, you just have to do it – you’ll find that you need to clean your house – perhaps you’ve been in the same place for a long time or you’ll find that you’re working with a house that’s full of clutter. Perhaps you follow a specific view of cleaning and tidying your house, or perhaps you’ve just got to clean it out in time for a specific event. Whatever the reason, need to make a plan. Some people recommend hiring a skip, and size it based on the rooms you want to declutter, but your other option is collecting all of the rubbish from your garden, using a company that works with clearing gardens and driveways of junk. Junk removal is often one of the most difficult things to plan for, as it often turns out that there’s far more than you expect so how do you remove it cheaply and safely?

Cheap rubbish removal

There are several guidelines for cheap rubbish removal, and these tips should help you make the best of what you’ve got.

How much decluttering and junk removal are you planning to do? – A small spring clean isn’t the same as a new start, so you need to look at what you’re planning to do. You may want to consider storing all of your decluttered items in your garage, if you can.

What sort of rubbish and junk are you getting rid of – are you interested, for example in dumping it all, or are you going to upcyle and offer some before getting rid of it? Many people find this part the most difficult of all, as not throwing items away means that they may hang around and you may change your mind.

When do you need it done by – If you have a deadline, you need to work with that, otherwise you’ll find that you’ll put it off and off and before you know it, so plan for it properly, and discuss your needs with an specialist.

Do you have a date in mind? – If you’re working to a date, then you should contact your rubbish removal team as soon as possible. It’s critical in these cases to ensure that you’ve got your booking in, in time.

Options for junk removal

If you’re looking to get rid of a small amount, a team that specialise in rubbish removal in tight situations might be the best idea – these groups can work well with people that need to declutter small flats, but remember that wherever you’re piling rubbish, you have to be allowed to put it there. Often the best way to deal with this is to put the items outside as close to pick up as possible.

In their 2007 report of Construction and the Environment, the Australian Bureau of Statistics states that, on average, one tonne of solid waste per person per year is sent to landfill. Construction and demolition companies contribute to about 30 – 40 % of this – that’s about 8 million tonnes nationwide. The worse offenders are in Inner Sydney where 60% of waste sent to landfill is the result of construction and demolition businesses.

At 1300Rubbish, we can help reduce the amount sent to landfill with our new Gyprock Recycling Service.

When 95% of the Australian public are recycling their general household waste such as cardboard, paper and plastics, it’s about time large commercial companies began taking responsibility for recycling at least some of the waste that they accrue. 20,000 tonnes of gypsum board waste is put into landfill in Sydney alone and, when you consider that Gyprock is 100% recyclable, this is 20,000 tonnes too much.

Globally, 80 million tonnes of plasterboard or drywall is produced every year resulting in 15 million tonnes of easily recycled waste taking up valuable landfill space all around the world. 94% of gypsum board can be broken down into gypsum powder which is then send back to manufacturers to create more material and 6% of the recycled gyprock is paper, which can be used in various industries. With such a simple recycling process, there really is no excuse for businesses to continue sending such waste to landfill.

What is wrong with sending Gyprock to landfill?

Our overuse of landfill facilities is something which will haunt future generations and, whilst environmental activists have been campaigning for decades, it’s only been in the last decade that governments appear to have realised its impact. Not only does it contaminate land that could be used for other purposes, but it allows hazardous chemicals to seep into the atmosphere. By sending goods to landfill without careful consideration, we are also wasting natural, non-renewable resources that could be recycled. Gyprock can safely be 100% recycled, but when sent to landfill it produces hydrogen sulphide – a poisonous, flammable gas that can easily be avoided.

1300Rubbish can now help you recycle your gyprock and plasterboard.

By recycling Gyprock we can help the gypsum industry recover their high quality materials whilst keeping prices low. With governments and councils constantly increasing tipping fees, recycling has actually become a cheaper way to dispose of your gyprock, as well as promoting your company as being environmentally friendly.

At 1300 Rubbish, we try and recycle all rubbish we collect where possible, but recycling your gyprock couldn’t be easier. We will come and collect your gyprock and transport it directly to a recycling centre where we guarantee that it will be 100% recycled. For more information, you can contact our friendly customer service team on 1300 78 22 47; they will be happy to answer any questions you might have and provide you with an obligation free quote.
