1.) First Impressions Count – Remove any front yard rubbish.

When selling your house, you need to capture the prospective buyer from the moment they step out of their car. Now is the time to mow that lawn and trade in the overgrown weeds for some new potted plants – real estate experts suggest adding some colour for an extra “wow” factor. (And while you’re practising your gardening skills, have a go at the back yard too.)

The front windows should be decorated to make the house look more inviting; yellow or tatty curtains and blinds just won’t do. Take them down and replace them with new, clean and simple blinds – they don’t have to be expensive, they just have to make the house look cared for.

Think realistically if you are ever going to need that back catalogue of gossip magazines or travel brochures; whilst one or two home decorating and gardening magazines on a coffee table can sell a lifestyle, a library of them just look like a mess.
